Villa Cheta Elite
The Villa Cheta Elite is located in the coastal village of Acquafredda, overlooking the coast, just 6km from Maratea.
The cream and ochre Art Nouveau building stands at the top of a terraced garden of tropical plants that leads to the coastal road below, and onward down a relatively steep path to the small beach where the hotel runs a bar in the summer.
With just 24 rooms in all, the hotel retains the ambience of a private villa, which is enhanced by the quite grand turn of the century furniture and the several private sitting areas both inside and out, pride of place going to the panoramic roof terrace with fabulous views of the coastline below.
Comfortable bedrooms vary in style and are graded into superior and classic, with half of each type having a sea view. The beds are excellent and the somewhat old fashioned and individual furniture is more than made up for by the large panoramic windows in most of the rooms.
It is particularly pleasant to sit out or drink on the terrace where quite traditional meals are served in fine weather. The waiters are particularly friendly and it is the attentive service from all the staff that makes a stay here feel special.
